Clare Valley, South Australia
Gewurztraminer is quietly coming back from the 1980's and the fresh tropical lychee fruit flavours with a hint of ginger is worth a reunion. This dry version is a revelation served with your fave Asian dish.
Sourced from a single Polish Hill River Valley block planted back in 1981 when this variety was hitting the Top 10 as a Riesling Traminer blend. As a varietal it is all lychees and fresh tropical flavours with just a hint of spice and ginger. A little texture gives the wine a plush luxurious feel and the perfume is just knock out. Night harvesting at low temperatures retains all the fresh fruit flavours and bright acidity, then holding the chilled juice on solids in the airbag press for a few hours prior fermentation helps deepens the flavours. 2022 was an outstanding vintage and this Gewurztraminer is a shining example of the sheer quality of the resulting wines.
