Clare Valley, South Australia
One of the very few examples of this Italian varietal in Australia. Olive flavours mixed with spiced currents and sultanas makes this an intriguing food wine.
This Italian variety maybe well known in its native Apulia in Southern Italy but in Australia it is virtually unheard off. Just a single hectare block in owned by the Grace Family in Watervale provides fruit for this small batch. This intriguing wine has layers of complex flavours ranging from savoury olives to sweet raisins. Like most Italian varieties it sings with food. A lighter bodied wine of this style marries well with lighter fresh pasta dishes.
